Six young men considering religious life as a De La Salle Christian Brother gathered in Chicago from November 11 – 13, 2016.  The time together allowed them to reflect on their faith journey, discernment, and life experiences.  These young men spoke about the call to teach, live in community, and their experience of God.  They reflected on the experiences of service that revealed God’s call through the young people they encountered along the way, the example of current Christian Brothers, and the desire to offer their gifts and talents to the Lasallian mission.

Led by Brothers Chris Patiño, Francis Eells, and Richard Galvin, these young men had an opportunity to share their dreams and fears, to pray for the courage to follow God’s will, and to encourage one another in their discernment.  In their brief time together, the group had the opportunity to share in a powerful exchange with Brothers in Initial Formation (current Postulants, Novices, and Brothers in temporary vows) who were also gathered in Chicago for the weekend.  During the exchange, the group of 24 shared the highlights of their vocation journeys and some of the challenges along the way.  It was truly a holy moment.

And so enjoy some of the highlights…
