Brother Lawrence Goyette, FSC
Founder of a Movement
Directed and founded the first San Miguel School in 1993 on the belief that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Through Brother Lawrence’s vision, generations of young people have had a transformative educational experience that began with a handshake and a warm greeting each morning during their time at San Miguel in Providence, RI.
‘‘As my journey as a Lasallian educator continued, I became so much more aware of the guiding hand of St. La Salle in the entire process of this new creation called “San Miguel School.” In 1993, it was obvious that the previous 25 years had been gradually preparing me for this awesome responsibility without my realizing it.”
