Brother Chris Patiño, FSC
Feeling Called at a Young Age
From a young age Brother Chris knew he wanted to teach. One thing led to another, and he moved into the Brothers community during college and began working at San Miguel in Tucson, AZ. Transformed by his experience of direct service to the poor in the Philippines at Bahay Pag-asa, a center for convicted youth, Brother Chris witnessed the need for the young to have older brothers to walk with them and provide a human and Christian education in a very real way.
‘‘De La Salle began by bringing the early Brothers together in community. Community life provides a dynamic lifestyle that calls us to respond to the needs in our world and in our society. God is tangible in this ministry and mission—you will encounter Jesus in a real way.”
